New Workshop Dates

We have some new dates for textile screen-printing and lino printing workshops. The workshops will take place in our studio in October and November. We also have a special festive workshop taking place in November. Pop over to our workshops page on our site for more information and to book a place!

Recently we've been getting a lot of enquiries from customers that want to buy our fabric by the meter... So with some very helpful advice from the folks over at Ink & Spindle in Melbourne we are going to attempt to build our own fabric printing table. Will be quite a small table to start off with, probably around 3m long.....will see how it goes form there!

Above are some photos of how we are printing fabric at the moment. It involves printing one section then shifting the fabric along and aligning it very carefuly before printing the next section. It's a slow process....so can't wait to get the printing table sorted.

Printing Lampshade Panels

Here's some photos of us printing fabric panels for our lampshades. As our maximum print area at the moment is around A2 we usually print one section then shift the fabric along to print the next section. It would be much easier with a proper fabric printing table!

New Products

We have been making some new products over the last few weeks and have just uploaded them to the Peris and Corr shop.

We've made some printed organic welsh blanket lampshades and printed welsh blanket cushions.We will be offering these in custom colours so get in touch if you would like your own colours printed.

We have also been printing a new patchwork design made up from a selection of drawings. We've used the fabric to make some small clasp purses, handmade bags, cushions and lampshades.

As the design is made up of lots of small sections all of these products will be unique as they will feature diferent sections of the design. There's a couple of examples of the small clasps above.

We have just spent a few nights down in Bovey Tracey exhibiting at the Contemporary Craft Fair. Spending four nights in a tent in the cold and rain wasn't great though.

We made a lot of new products for the show we will be adding them to our shop over the next couple of weeks.

We had a brilliant time and met loads of other makers. Rebecca Callis had a stall next door to us, she makes delicate pots and mugs, our other neighbour was the jeweller Molly Perrin who made vintage looking lockets. Julia Parry-Jones was over the road, a jeweller who makes amazing pieces from silver, wood and jewels.

The Contemporary Craft Fair

We will be heading down to the Contemporary Craft Fair at Bovey Tracey next week. We have been making loads of new products that we will be launching at the fair. Above is a sneak preview of a new print we have been working on!

Kids Clothes Sale

To make space for a new range of kids clothes we are selling off the last remaining stock of our previous range for £6.00 each, with free postage! Stock is very limited so pop over to our shop now to grab yourself a bargain! All our kids clothes are printed on to high quality organic garments using solvent free water-based ink.

Tea Towel Give Away

We have a pair of tea towels up for grabs on our Facebook page. You could win a welsh alphabet tea towel and a 'lliain llestri' (tea towel in welsh) tea towel.

New Welsh 'Tea Towel'

Have just finished printing these new tea towels.

They are printed with the words 'Lliain Llestri' (which is welsh for Tea Towel) contained within a swirly hand drawn border. The tea towels are Fairtrade organic cotton and measure around 50 x 70cm.

They are available in our online shop in turquoise or rose.

New Workshops

We ran a couple of screen-printing workshops last year and they went really well, so we will be running a few more this spring and summer. We will be starting off with a lino printing workshop in March and have dates planned for printing and sewing your own cushion, printing and sewing your own purse, printing your own tea towels and printing and sewing your own soft toy workshops! Below is a quick mock up of a soft toy pattern we've been working on - needs a bit of fine tuning!

All our workshops are suitable for beginners, so don't be put off if you haven't done any printing or sewing before as we will be here to help you.

Cushions for Adra

We've just finished another batch of cushions for Adra. The cushions are printed on natural linen and have the words 'Cwsg' (Sleep) or 'Cartref' (Home) printed on them.

We are part of a new online shop called Made By Hand Online. Set-up by Sarah James and Katie Honnor (you can read a bit about them here) Made by Hand Online is a lovely website selling products from the finest makers in the UK and Ireland.

We are also very exited to have been selected to take part in the Contemporary Craft Fair at Bovey Tracey this year. The fair takes place between the 10th and 12th of June.

A Post!

The snow just before Christmas messed up our printing schedule a bit so we had some catching up to do this month. We are back on top of everything now, and are busy working on various printing and sewing work.

There's a few new products available in our shop including some clasp purses and posters. The welsh blanket purses are sold out at the moment but we will be making some more soon and will be printing this pattern on other items as well.

This month we were featured in Embroidery Magazine as part of Made by Hand which we will be exhibiting in next month.

We also have our work featured at the Shirehall Gallery as part of their Christmas craft show and Rob Ryan exhibition.

Rhys Thomas - Photography Exhibition

We are having an exhibition of photographs by Rhys Thomas at our studio in October. The exhibition will run from 11th of October until the 12th November. The private view will be on Saturday 9th of October between 3pm and 7pm if you want to pop by.

G Magazine

Our Kokeshi Bag was featured in G Magazine last month, an Australian magazine about everything green. A Pdf of the page can bee seen here (we haven't got an actual copy).

Still ploughing our way through print work over here but we have managed to make some new purses that are available on etsy. Only a limited amount are available as they were made with a paper cut-out stencil rather than a photo stencil!

And our floral purse is now available in a lovely bright blue colour with a matching zip, only on etsy at the moment.

Amongst all the printing work we are trying to get with designing new products that will hopefully include Christmas decorations, badges and glow in the dark kids posters!

Gwyl Arall & Gwyl Gardd Goll

Gwyl Arall and Gwyl Gardd Goll take place in North Wales over the weekend. Gwyl Arall takes place in Caernarfon from Friday to Saturday and includes music by Race Horses and Cate Le Bon and talks by Howard Marks, the full line-up and tickets are available on the Gwyl Arall website.

As part of the festival we will be selling our products ar Turf Square in Caernarfon on Saturday the 24th of July between 10.30 and 5.30. Buddug Humphreys and Jessie Chorley, bOtwm and sbAZmo will also be selling their products.

Gwyl Gardd Goll takes place in Y Faenol near Bangor on Sunday the 25th of July and we will also have a stall at the event. The line-up includes Richard James and Meic Stevens. Visit the website for more info and the full line-up.

We have been selected to take part in the Made by Hand, a brand new craft and design fair taking place in Tredegar House near Newport from the 3rd - 5th of December 2010. There are 140 stalls and there will be loads of workshops, demonstrations and family entertainment.

We went down to the 'Preparing to Sell' talk last Thursday and got loads of useful information and realised how much planning and preparing we have to do before December!

We keep on getting small birds flying in to the studio, maybe looking for somewhere to nest. Here's a little Blue Tit dreaming of the outside world, they do all manage to find their way out eventually.

We are super busy at the moment ploughing our way through various print jobs for festivals, bands etc.......so not much time for designing and printing our own stuff. We have found a bit of time to start work on the designs for a new range of customizable wedding invites, more on that soon! We ran a few new baby grows a couple of weeks ago as well, only available on Etsy at the moment.

Oriel Mostyn re-opened last Saturday after being closed for a few years to be refurbished. They have a selection of our textile products available in the shop.

We found out recently that we had been accepted in to the Made by Hand craft fair in Tredegar House near Newport which will take place in December, gives us plenty of time to prepare.

Just finished printing a run of new baby-grows and babies baseball t-shirts. There are two colourways available in the elephant baby-grows and one available in the whale print. They are all printed on lovely soft organic cotton.

Our new conveyor dryer machine has arrived! its caused a bit of chaos in the studio!

Charlie from Panther Dryers in Norwich delivered and set it up for us yesterday.

It will make curing ink loads faster.

We have been busy re designing the website which will be ready very soon and I am in the process of organising paper stencil screen printing workshops which will be held at the end of this month.

Tim & Sam

Our new conveyor dryer is almost ready so should be here within the next week or so, we just need to sort out some electrics here first.

Above are some t-shirts we printed for Tim and Sam's Tim and the Sam band with Tim and Sam to accompany the release of their debut album 'Life Stream' which is released on May 3rd. The album and merchandise is available through their online store.

Pierhead Sessions

We recently printed some t-shirts and sweatshirts for the Pierhead Sessions in Cardiff. The event takes place in the Pierhead Building in Cardiff from the 4-6th of March to mark the 10th year of the National Assembly for Wales.

The event includes a lecture by George Monbiot, music by Huw Stephens and comedy from Bennett Arron amongst various other events. For a full programme visit the Pierhead Website.

Hidden Moves

We recently printed some t-shirts for Hidden Moves designed by Welsh artist/ designer Rhys Owens. Both designs are available with free postage from his website where you can also buy prints of his work.

We are currently re-designing and updating our website to include information about some new services we will be providing. We will hopefully have it up and running within the next week or so, once all the glitches are sorted.

Its been a while since we posted anything on our blog. Have been sorting out loads of paper work which got on top of us a bit. Have been doing a fair bit of printing as well including these Cardboard Kid t-shirts for Gareth Hacking that are available in our online shop.

A while back we applied for a grant from the Local Investment Fund to purchase a new conveyor dryer. The money has finally come through today so have ordered the dryer today and it should be here in 3-4 weeks.

In December we won an award as well; we were first in the Artist/ Craft Worker of the year category in the Gwynedd Taste and Talent awards

Trash Vortex - Partimi Popup - Camden

A selection of our products will be available at 'Trash Vortex' hosted by environmentally aware fashion brand Partimi. The pop up shop will be open from 18th - 24th of December at C73 opposite the Dublin Castle, Camden.

Helfa Gelf North Wales Open Studios 2009

We have been really busy for the last couple of months with print work for other companies, so haven't had much time to make our own work. This month we are getting back to designing and making, so look out for new products in the coming weeks.

We are taking part in Helfa Gelf , North Wales Open Studios this September. We are 1 of 112 artists taking part in the event who will be opening their doors to the public for three weekends in September. A book and leaflets (above) have been printed for the event which contains information about each artist and directions to their studios let us know if you would like a copy.

Our studio will be opening to the public on the following dates in September:

Fri 11th, Sat 12th, Sun 13th 11am-5pm

Fri 18th (also open in the evening from 7-9pm), Sat 19th, Sun 20th 11am-5pm

Fri 25th, Sat26th, Sun 27th 11am-5pm

We may be having an event in the evening on Friday 18th, details to be confirmed.
